iOS Install guide
This method does not require a jailbroken device. It does, however, take up one of your three available side loaded apps. The game will also take up ~11GB once installed, just like on Android.
Instructions
- Download a decrypted copy of the game here.
- Download the game files here and unzip them on your computer.
- Download and install the appropriate version of Impactor for your computer (NOT Plumesign) here. Other methods of side loading apps work if you know them, we're just using this one because I know it and it works on Linux. If you choose to use another method of sideloading, be sure to enable "force filesharing" and then skip ahead to step 12.
- Connect your phone/tablet to the computer using a USB cord. Unlock it and accept the prompt to trust the computer when you see it (it may show up in a later step).
- Open impactor, and click the cog wheel icon in the top right.
- Click the button that says "add account" and enter your Apple ID credentials. I recommend using a throwaway account if you have one; the account entered does not need to be the one logged into your device.
- Open the IPA file in Impactor, either by dragging and dropping or clicking the "import .ipa/.tipa" button and navigating to the correct file.
- Select "Force filesharing" and "Auto Refresh" on the right hand side of the window and click "install". Leave other settings in this window as their defaults. Wait for Impactor to tell you it's done installing before proceeding.
- On your phone/tablet, open the settings app.
- In the settings app, navigate to General, scroll to the bottom, select "VPN & Device Management"
- Under the "Developer App" header at the bottom, select the Apple ID you used with Impactor and then tap "Trust "[your apple id]"" followed by "Allow" (It's in red, don't get confused!)
- Adding the game files:
- Windows and MacOS:
- With your device still plugged in via USB, open iTunes(/Finder) and navigate to your device
- Click the tab labeled files and locate the app named
ザ レイズ - Open the folder containing the contents of the "complete install" zip file and drag them to the
ザ レイズheader. Make sure the folders you're copying are "MDCache", "NECache", and "OfflineData".
- Linux:
- Ensure you have iFuse installed. It is likely available in your package manager, but the project's Github is here if not.
- Open a terminal and create a folder by entering
mkdir raysdocsmount. - Now run
ifuse --list-appsand locate the entry that looks closest to"jp.co.bandainamcoent.BNEI0255.[numbers and letters]","179","ザ レイズ". (Note that only the [numbers and letters] section should really be any different in your output.) - Now, enter the command
ifuse --documents [the first part of the entry you found in the previous command] raysdocsmount - Copy the contents of the "complete install" zip file into the "raysdocsmount" folder that is now in your home directory. Make sure the folders you're copying are "MDCache", "NECache", and "OfflineData".
- When the copy completes, either run
umount raysdocsmountor otherwise unmount the folder like its a USB drive. You may now delete the empty "raysdocsmount" folder if you'd like.
- Windows and MacOS:
- You should now have a working install of Tales of the Rays! The app will need to be refreshed and retrusted periodically, unfortunately. You will need to have Impactor open for it to be able to perform the refresh, and on Linux your phone will need to be connected via USB.
